As director of the Wallkill River School, I led the team that created "Orange County Bounty" local foods cookbook in 2008. The cookbook offers recipes for what is in season, and where to find it from local farms and markets. The cookbook is illustrated with art by Orange County artists, and sprinkled throughout the book are tidbits of O.C. history and culture. I have a 20 minute presentation on "Eating Local" as the most important step we can take to curb climate change. I have presented this topic throughout Orange County, NY over 15 times in the past two years.

I often partner with progressive organizations to raise money through benefit art auctions. I recently offered the "Women of the Sudan" series as a benefit for Doctors Without Borders, and the "Heirloom Varieties" as a fundraiser for the National Campaign for Sustainable Agriculture.
If you would like to work together to create a benefit art auction, contact me with your idea.

In 2001, my painting "She Nourishes" was on display in Stewart International Airport. I was asked to remove it as it was deemed "offensive" by airport personnel. I pulled out all my work in protest and was joined by La Leche League and other folks for several public protests that made front page news locally, the New York Times, and Mothering Magazine. This is the offensive painting:
